• Accreditation 18 November 2015 Updated 30 June 2016

    Provider: Top Education Group Limited

    Course: Master of Accounting Practice

    Course accreditation

Report on accreditation of one higher education course of study offered by Top Education Group Pty Ltd.

A delegate of TEQSA has accredited, under section 49 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (the TEQSA Act), the following higher education course of study offered by Top Education Group Pty Ltd for a period of seven years until 18 November 2022:

    • Master of Accounting Practice

On 18 November 2015 a delegate of TEQSA, under subsection 53(1) of the TEQSA Act, imposed one condition on the accreditation of the above course of study:

    Condition 1:

Prior to commencing marketing of the Master of Accounting Practice or enrolling any students in the course, Top Education Group Pty Ltd must provide TEQSA with evidence that:

    1. Top is a CPA Australia Registered Tuition Provider.
    2. The Master of Accounting Practice is accredited by CPA Australia.

On 30 June 2016 a delegate of TEQSA revoked, under subsection 53(2) of the TEQSA Act, the above condition imposed on the Master of Accounting Practice.

There are no conditions remaining on the course.

    Main reasons for decision

TEQSA considered that the decision to impose one condition on the Master of Accounting Practice to be consistent with the basic principles for regulation in Part 2 of the TEQSA Act, as Top Education Group Pty Ltd was at risk of not complying with the Threshold Standards. TEQSA considered that the risks of non-compliance with the Threshold Standards involved a number of matters that may affect Top Education Group Pty Ltd's capacity to manage and deliver its higher education awards.

The broad issues which related to the Master of Accounting Practice included the need, based on the course content, rationale and objectives, to ensure that Top Education Group Pty Ltd was a CPA Australia Registered Tuition Provider and that the course was accredited by CPA Australia.

The condition was revoked on the basis that TEQSA was satisfied that Top Education Group Pty Ltd has met the requirements of Condition 1(i) and that having regard to the entry requirements and advice from CPA Australia, it was not necessary that the Master of Accounting Practice be accredited by CPA Australia.
