Report on revocation of conditions imposed on accreditation of six higher education courses of study offered by Group Colleges Australia Pty Ltd

On 17 August 2021 a delegate of TEQSA revoked, under section 53 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act):

• Conditions (a), (c) and (d) imposed on the accreditation of the following courses offered by Group Colleges Australia Pty Ltd (refer Public Report of 6 February 2014):
  • Diploma of Accounting
  • Associate Degree of Accounting
  • Bachelor of Accounting
• Conditions 1 and 2 imposed on the accreditation of the following courses offered by Group Colleges Australia Pty Ltd (refer Public Report of 10 November 2014):
• Diploma of Business
• Associate Degree of Business
• Bachelor of Business

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision on the basis that it was satisfied that the conditions are no longer necessary.

Course accreditation

Report on accreditation of 3 higher education courses of study offered by Asia Pacific International College Pty Ltd

On 20 August 2021, a delegate of TEQSA accredited, under section 49 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the following courses offered by Asia Pacific International College Pty Ltd, for a period of seven years until 20 August 2028:

• Graduate Certificate in Business Management
• Graduate Diploma of Business Management
• Master of Business Administration.

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision on the basis that it was satisfied that the courses submitted by Asia Pacific International College Pty Ltd for accreditation meet the applicable Standards of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021.

Revocation of registration conditions

Report on revocation of conditions imposed on registration of LCI Melbourne Pty Ltd.

On 25 August 2021 TEQSA revoked, under section 32 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), Conditions 1 and 2 imposed on the registration of LCI Melbourne Pty Ltd (refer public report of 31 August 2017).

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision on the basis that the conditions have been met.

Extension of registration period

Report on extension of registration of University of South Australia

On 25 October 2021, a delegate of TEQSA extended, under section 37A of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the registration of University of South Australia from 28 September 2023 to 28 September 2025.

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision in order to reduce the administrative burden of regulation for the provider in response to COVID-19 and its impact on the higher education sector. This decision is consistent with the principles set out in TEQSA's policy on extensions to the period of provider registration or course accreditation, including an assessment of risks associated with the extension.

On 1 July 2021, TEQSA made a decision, under section 38 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), to change the provider category of TAFE SA from Higher Education Provider to Institute of Higher Education.

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision in order to register TAFE SA in one of the four categories available under the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021. This decision was made on the basis that TEQSA is satisfied that TAFE SA meets the applicable category standards.

The decision to change provider category is a reviewable decision under section 183 of the TEQSA Act.
