Extension of accreditation period

Report on extension of accreditation of four higher education courses of study offered by Box Hill Institute (formerly Box Hill Institute of TAFE)

On 25 June 2021, a delegate of TEQSA extended, under section 57A of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following courses offered by Box Hill Institute (formerly Box Hill Institute of TAFE):

• Bachelor of Fashion from 28 December 2021 to 28 December 2022
• Associate Degree in Fashion from 28 December 2021 to 28 December 2022
• Bachelor of Fashion Merchandising from 28 December 2021 to 28 December 2022
• Associate Degree in Fashion Merchandising from 28 December 2021 to 28 December 2022.

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision in order to reduce the administrative burden of regulation for the provider in response to COVID-19 and its impact on the higher education sector. This decision is consistent with the principles set out in TEQSA's policy on extensions to the period of provider registration or course accreditation, including an assessment of risks associated with the extension.

Renewal of course accreditation in teach out mode

Report on renewal of accreditation of three higher education courses of study in teach out mode offered by Holmesglen Institute

On 29 June 2021, a delegate of TEQSA renewed, under section 56 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following courses in teach out mode offered by Holmesglen Institute, until 18 December 2023:

• Master of Professional Accounting
• Graduate Diploma in Accounting
• Bachelor of Business Administration.

No new enrolments are permitted in the above courses.

TEQSA made this decision on the basis that it considers it appropriate to permit Holmesglen Institute to teach out the above courses over two years.

TEQSA made this decision on the basis that it was satisfied that Newcastle International College Pty Ltd has ensured the appropriate teach out of its higher education courses of study prior to withdrawing its registration.
