On 19 May 2020, a delegate of TEQSA extended, under section 57A of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following courses offered by The Cairmillar Institute:

• Master of Psychology (Clinical Psychology) from 18 February 2022 to 18 February 2025
• Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy from 21 December 2022 to 21 December 2025
• Graduate Diploma of Counselling and Psychotherapy from 21 December 2022 to 21 December 2025
• Graduate Certificate of Counselling and Psychotherapy from 21 December 2022 to 21 December 2025

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision in order to reduce the administrative burden of regulation for the provider in response to COVID-19 and its impact on the higher education sector. On 18 May 2020 a delegate of TEQSA varied, under section 53 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), Condition 1 imposed on the accreditation of the following courses offered by Polytechnic Institute Australia Pty Ltd (refer public report of 28 November 2016):

• Bachelor of Networking and Telecommunications
• Diploma of Networking Technology

The condition, as varied, is as follows:

Condition 1

Polytechnic Institute Australia Pty Ltd must not commence delivery, for each study period of the course of study until TEQSA notifies the provider that TEQSA is satisfied that the provider has in place specialised information technology facilities and resources consistent with the course of study requirements, and sufficient for students to achieve the expected learning outcomes.
