Report on application for accreditation of one higher education course of study by the Australian College of Natural Medicine

On 29 January 2018, a delegate of TEQSA rejected, under section 49 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the application by the Australian College of Natural Medicine (ACNM) for accreditation of the following course:

• Graduate Certificate in Wellness

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision on the basis that it was not satisfied that the course submitted by ACNM complies with the following provisions of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2015:

1. Course design in particular failure to address learning outcomes in a comprehensive and coherent manner, insufficient details regarding course mapping insufficient details regards to formative and summative assessment. (1.4.1, 1.4.2, 1.4.3, and 1.4.4).
2. Lack of benchmarking with comparable courses. (3.1.2)
3. Consideration of the face to face versus online course delivery is limited. (3.1.1)
4. Course co-ordination role is limited due to lack of skills and academic experience, including demonstration of active scholarship at post graduate level. (3.2.3)
5. Information regarding professional registration with the National Wellness Institute may be misconstrued as an industry relevant body. (3.1.5)

Course accreditation

Report on accreditation of one higher education course of study offered by Australian College of Nursing Ltd

On 27 June 2018, a delegate of TEQSA accredited, under section 49 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the following course offered by Australian College of Nursing Ltd, for a period of seven years until 27 June 2025:

• Graduate Certificate in Nursing (Bridging and Re-entry)

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision on the basis that it was satisfied that the course submitted by Australian College of Nursing Pty Ltd for accreditation meet the Provider Course Accreditation Standards of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2015.

TEQSA's assessment considered Australian College of Nursing Ltd's arrangements for delivery at all Australian sites

Revocation of registration conditions

Report on revocation of conditions imposed on registration of S P Jain School of Global Management Pty Ltd

On 29 June 2018 TEQSA revoked, under section 32 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), Condition 1 and Condition 4 imposed on the registration of S P Jain School of Global Management Pty Ltd (refer public report of 12 March 2015).

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision on the basis that it was satisfied that the conditions have been met.

Report on renewal of accreditation of three higher education courses of study offered by the Australian Institute of Business and Management Pty Ltd

On 23 May 2018, a delegate of TEQSA renewed, under section 56 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following courses offered by Australian Institute of Business and Management Pty Ltd, for a period of four years until 23 May 2022:

• Graduate Certificate in Business
• Master of Accounting (Formerly Master of Accounting (Standard))
• Master of Professional Accounting (Formerly Master of Professional Accounting (Standard)).

TEQSA made these decisions in light of risks that the courses submitted by Australian Institute of Business and Management Pty Ltd may not meet, or continue to meet, the following provisions of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2011:

1. Provider Course Accreditation Standard (PCAS) 5.5, in relation to benchmarking academic standards

TEQSA assessment considered the Australian Institute of Business and Management Pty Ltd arrangements for delivery at all Australian sites.

Renewal of course accreditation

Report on renewal of accreditation of two higher education courses of study offered by Navitas Professional Institute Pty Ltd

A delegate of TEQSA has renewed the accreditation, under Section 56 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (the TEQSA Act), of the following higher education courses of study offered by Navitas Professional Institute Pty Ltd.

• Master of Psychology (Clinical)
• Graduate Diploma of Professional Psychology

Main reasons for decision

TEQSA has determined that the two higher education courses of study submitted by Navitas Professional Institute Pty Ltd for accreditation comply with the Provider Course Accreditation Standards and arrangements for delivery at all Australian sites.

Renewal of course accreditation

Report on renewal of accreditation of six higher education courses of study offered by JMC Pty Ltd

A delegate of TEQSA has renewed the accreditation, under section 56 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Act 2011 (the TEQSA Act), of the following higher education courses of study offered by JMC Pty Ltd until 31 December 2019 (to align with JMC's period of registration):

• Bachelor of Creative Arts (3D Animation)
• Associate Degree of Creative Arts (3D Animation)
• Diploma of Creative Arts (3D Animation)
• Bachelor of Creative Arts (Game Design)
• Associate Degree of Creative Arts (Game Design)
• Diploma of Creative Arts (Game Design)

TEQSA has, under subsection 53(1) of the TEQSA Act, imposed two conditions on the accreditation of the above courses of study. JMC Pty Ltd must:

Condition 1:

By 30 June 2017 JMC must provide evidence of course documentation to demonstrate that the assessment for each accredited course of study is aligned with the course learning outcomes and AQF level.

Condition 2:

By 30 June 2017 JMC must provide evidence of its completion of the audit of academic staff teaching the Creative Arts courses at each campus, and of its reporting to Academic Board for approval of academic staff appointed under JMC's criteria for equivalent professional experience.

The course accreditation covers delivery at all Australian sites.

Main Reasons for the Decision

TEQSA considers that the decision to apply conditions to the accreditation of the two courses of study is consistent with the basic principles for regulation in Part 2 of the TEQSA Act, as the courses are at risk of not complying with a number of the Threshold Standards.

The broad issues which relate to these courses include:

• PCAS 1 in relation to the requirement that course documentation clearly demonstrates the expected learning outcomes of the course of study
• PCAS 4 in relation to the staffing profile and qualification levels of teaching staff at each campus location.
