On 30 November 2020, a delegate of TEQSA extended, under section 37A of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the registration of TAFE Queensland from 21 August 2021 to 21 August 2024.

TEQSA made this decision in order to reduce the administrative burden of regulation for the provider in response to COVID-19 and its impact on the higher education sector. This decision is consistent with the principles set out in TEQSA's policy on extensions to the period of provider registration or course accreditation, including an assessment of risks associated with the extension.

On 30 November 2020, a delegate of TEQSA extended, under section 57A of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following courses offered by TAFE Queensland:

• Associate Degree in Civil Engineering from 21 August 2021 to 21 August 2024
• Bachelor of Dental Prosthetics from 21 August 2021 to 21 August 2024

On 24 November 2020, a delegate of TEQSA revoked, under section 32 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), Condition 1 and Condition 2 imposed on the registration of TAFE Queensland (refer public report of 21 August 2014).

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision on the basis that it was satisfied that the risks associated with location of course delivery, academic governance and policy development have been satisfactorily mitigated and therefore, the conditions are no longer required.
