Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision in order to reduce the administrative burden of regulation for the provider in response to COVID-19 and its impact on the higher education sector. This decision is consistent with the principles set out in TEQSA's policy on extensions to the period of provider registration or course accreditation, including an assessment of risks associated with the extension.

Report on renewal of accreditation of eight higher education courses of study offered by Australian Institute of Business Pty Ltd

On 2 April 2020, TEQSA renewed, under section 56 of the TEQSA Act, the accreditation of the following courses offered by the Australian Institute of Business Pty Ltd, for a period of seven (7) years until 2 April 2027:

• Graduate Certificate in Management
• Graduate Diploma in Management
• Master of Business Administration
• Master of Business Administration (Entrepreneurial Management)
• Master of Business Administration (Finance)
• Master of Business Administration (Human Resource Management)
• Master of Business Administration (Logistics and Supply Chain Management)
• Master of Business Administration (Marketing Management).

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision on the basis that it was satisfied that Australian Institute of Business Pty Ltd continues to meet the Course Accreditation Standards of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2015.

Revocation of registration conditions

Report on revocation of conditions imposed on registration of Australian Institute of Business Pty Ltd

On 2 April 2020, TEQSA revoked, under section 32 of the TEQSA Act, the following conditions imposed on the registration of the Australian Institute of Business Pty Ltd:

• Condition 1, 6 and 7 imposed on 16 March 2017, and
• Condition 5 imposed on 16 March 2017 and varied on 16 February 2019

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision on the basis that it was satisfied that Australian Institute of Business Pty Ltd continues to meet the relevant Standards of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2015.

Renewal of registration

Report on renewal of registration of Asia Pacific International College Pty Ltd

On 2 April 2020, TEQSA renewed, under section 36 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the registration of Asia Pacific International College Pty Ltd (APIC) in the category of Higher Education Provider, for a period of four years until 2 April 2024.

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA has renewed the registration of APIC for a shortened period to allow TEQSA the opportunity to closely monitor APIC's progress for a reasonable period and to then undertake a full, detailed assessment of APIC's compliance with the HES Framework.

TEQSA holds concerns in relation to:

1. Corporate governance and the extent to which the governing body assures itself that APIC is operating effectively and sustainably; and
2. Institutional quality assurance and the extent to which APIC is adequately analysing and considering student performance data in its decision making and the extent to which actions it is taking are addressing student performance issues.

TEQSA will work with APIC to determine the means by which these risks will be addressed, and may consider further assurance action in relation to these matters in the future.
