Report on revocation of conditions imposed on the accreditation of two higher education courses of study offered by Technical and Further Education Commission (TAFE NSW)

On 5 March 2021 a delegate of TEQSA revoked, under section 53 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), Conditions, 1, 2, and 3 imposed on the accreditation of the following courses offered by the Technical and Further Education Commission (refer public reports of 24 March 2017 and 25 June 2018):

• Diploma of Information Technology
• Bachelor of Information Technology (Network Security)

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision on the basis that it was satisfied that the conditions have been met.

On 3 March 2021, a delegate of TEQSA renewed, under section 56 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the renewal of accreditation of the following courses in teach out mode offered by Think: Colleges Pty Ltd, for a period of two years from the current expiry dates, until 17 April 2023:

• Bachelor of Applied Social Science (Counselling)
• Bachelor of Applied Social Science (Community Service)
• Diploma of Applied Social Science

No new enrolments are permitted in the above courses.

On 11 February 2021, a delegate of TEQSA renewed, under section 56 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following courses offered by JMC Pty. Limited, for a period of seven years until 11 February 2028:

• Diploma of Entertainment Business Management
• Bachelor of Entertainment Business Management.

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made these decisions on the basis that it was satisfied that the courses submitted by JMC Pty. Limited for renewal of accreditation continue to meet the Provider Course Accreditation Standards of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2015.

In making these decisions, TEQSA considers that there is a risk that JMC Pty. Limited may not continue to meet the requirements of Section 3.2 of the Threshold Standards in relation to the extent to which staff are appropriately qualified and equipped for their roles.

TEQSA considers that the condition in relation to staffing imposed on the registration of JMC Pty. Limited on 10 February 2021 is sufficient to mitigate this risk. The condition is been detailed in the Public Report on the renewal of registration of JMC Pty. Limited.
