    On 19 February 2020, TEQSA renewed, under section 36 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the registration of Monash University in the category of Australian University, for a period of seven years until 18 February 2027.

    Main reasons for the decision

    TEQSA made this decision on the basis that it was satisfied that Monash University continues to meet the Provider Registration and Course Accreditation Standards of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2015.

    TEQSA found that Monash University has demonstrated:

    1. high quality self-review processes of performance and identification and management of risk
    2. well-developed plans to ensure that students across Australia and at its overseas campuses have consistent access to wellbeing and academic support services
    3. strengths in the high quality of the University's strategic planning, performance and reporting, and of reports to and from major university bodies
    4. a commendable commitment to prevent and respond to sexual assault and sexual harassment.
