On 31 August 2020, a delegate of TEQSA extended, under section 57A of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following courses offered by Macleay College Pty Limited:

• Bachelor of Business from 30 August 2020 to 30 December 2021
• Bachelor of Journalism from 30 August 2020 to 30 December 2021
• Diploma of Business Management from 30 August 2020 to 30 December 2021
• Diploma of Marketing from 30 August 2020 to 30 December 2021
• Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from 8 September 2021 to 30 December 2021
• Diploma of Journalism from 11 September 2021 to 30 December 2021

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision in order to reduce the administrative burden of regulation for the provider in response to COVID-19 and its impact on the higher education sector. This decision is consistent with the principles set out in TEQSA's policy on extensions to the period of provider registration or course accreditation, including an assessment of risks associated with the extension.

Renewal of registration

Report on renewal of registration of CIC Higher Education Pty Ltd

On 19 August 2020, TEQSA renewed, under section 36 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the registration of CIC Higher Education Pty Ltd (CIC) in the category of Higher Education Provider, for a period of five years until 19 August 2025.

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA has renewed the registration of CIC Higher Education Pty Ltd (CIC) for a shortened period to allow TEQSA the opportunity to closely monitor CIC's progress for a reasonable period and to then undertake a full, detailed assessment of CIC's compliance with the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2015.

TEQSA holds residual concerns in relation to:

1. Academic Quality Assurance: Admission, External Referencing, Cohort Monitoring, Course Review (Domains 1, 5 and 6)
2. Student Attrition (Domains 1, 5 and 6)
3. Scholarship (Domain 3).

TEQSA will work with CIC to finalise a Voluntary Undertaking that specifies the actions CIC must undertake and the timeframes for those actions, in order to satisfy TEQSA that CIC will address these risks. TEQSA may also consider further assurance action in relation to these matters in the future.

On 19 August 2020, TEQSA renewed, under section 56 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following courses offered by CIC Higher Education Pty Ltd, for a period of five years until 19 August 2025:

• Bachelor of Business (Management)

TEQSA made this decision to renew accreditation for a period of five years to align with the period of registration effective until 19 August 2025.

Report on accreditation of one higher education course of study offered by Wentworth Institute of Higher Education Pty Ltd

On 31 August 2020, a delegate of TEQSA:

• accredited, under section 49 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the following course offered by Wentworth Institute of Higher Education Pty Ltd, for a period of five years until 31 August 2025:
• Bachelor of Information Technology.
• imposed, under section 53 of the TEQSA Act, one condition on the accreditation of the Bachelor of Information Technology.

Condition 1: Staffing

Wentworth Institute of Higher Education Pty Ltd must not commence delivery of the Bachelor of Information Technology until TEQSA notifies the provider that TEQSA is satisfied that it has appointed the necessary suitably qualified academic staff to teach and provide academic leadership in the Bachelor of Information Technology.

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made these decisions in light of risks that the course submitted by Wentworth Institute of Higher Education Pty Ltd may not meet, or continue to meet, the following provisions of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2015:

1. Section 3.2 of Part A, in relation to the qualifications, and number of, academic staff engaged to teach and provide academic leadership for the Bachelor of Information Technology.

Application to withdraw conditions

In accordance with section 53 of the TEQSA Act, TEQSA may vary or revoke a condition imposed on the accreditation of a higher education course of study, either on its own initiative, or upon application by the provider for variation or revocation.

Report on renewal of accreditation of five higher education courses of study offered by Christian Heritage College

On 31 August 2020, a delegate of TEQSA renewed, under section 56 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following courses offered by Christian Heritage College, for a period of seven years until 31 August 2027:

• Diploma of Business
• Bachelor of Business
• Bachelor of Education (Primary)
• Bachelor of Education (Secondary)
• Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education (Secondary).

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision on the basis that it was satisfied that the courses submitted by Christian Heritage College for renewal of accreditation continue to meet the Provider Course Accreditation Standards of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2015.
