Annual reporting requirements for offshore courses published
A new legislative instrument has been published, specifying annual reporting requirements for authorised providers of offshore provided Australian courses of study.
The legislative instrument supports amendments made to the TEQSA Act in December 2025, which require providers to:
- receive authorisation from TEQSA to provide Australian courses of study offshore
- notify TEQSA of any new or changed offshore course provision arrangements
- provide an annual information report to TEQSA regarding courses of study provided offshore.
The new legislative instrument prescribes the annual reporting requirements. It applies to all registered higher education providers authorised to provide Australian courses of study offshore under Part 3A of the TEQSA Act. Its development was informed by sector consultation.
Providers are required to submit their initial reports to TEQSA by 31 October 2026. We will contact providers soon with more information on the format and process for submitting these reports.
