Alert - Phishing email purporting to be from teqsa.gov.au

TEQSA is aware of a phishing email currently circulating that purports to be from TEQSA. The email includes TEQSA’s provider enquiries email address,  providerenquiries@teqsa.gov.au, next to ‘From’ in the email header but has not been sent by TEQSA.

The scam email asks individuals to click a link to update payment details, and requests credit card and billing address information. The email does not originate from a TEQSA system and does not include our logo or branding. 

TEQSA does not send emails asking individuals or entities to confirm payment details by clicking a link. 

Providers should advise TEQSA of any updates to their details by emailing the Provider Enquiries team. Contact details are provided below.

If you have received a deceptive email, like the one described above: 

  • do not reply
  • do not click any links or open any attachments
  • report the email immediately as spam to your email service provider
  • delete the email.
