Report on renewal of registration of Kent Institute Australia Pty Ltd (formerly The Centre of Academic Excellence Pty. Ltd) and renewal of accreditation of three courses of study

On 14 December 2022, TEQSA:

• Renewed, under section 36 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the registration of Kent Institute Australia Pty Ltd (formerly The Centre of Academic Excellence Pty. Ltd) in the category of Institute of Higher Education, for a period of 7 years until 14 December 2029.
• Renewed, under section 56 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following courses for a period 7 years until 14 December 2029:
  • Bachelor of Accounting
  • Bachelor of Information Technology
  • Bachelor of Business

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision on the basis that it was satisfied that Kent Institute Australia Pty Ltd (formerly The Centre of Academic Excellence Pty. Ltd) continues to meet the applicable Standards of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021.

TEQSA found that Kent Institute Australia Pty Ltd (formerly The Centre of Excellence Pty. Ltd) has demonstrated:

• an ongoing commitment to implementing positive changes to corporate and academic governance.
• the governing bodies are well informed about operations, risks and sustainability through its internal assurance mechanisms.
• a commitment to improving the academic progress of its students.
