Asia Pacific International College Pty Ltd: Re-registration 2 April 2020

Renewal of registration

Report on renewal of registration of Asia Pacific International College Pty Ltd

On 2 April 2020, TEQSA renewed, under section 36 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the registration of Asia Pacific International College Pty Ltd (APIC) in the category of Higher Education Provider, for a period of four years until 2 April 2024.

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA has renewed the registration of APIC for a shortened period to allow TEQSA the opportunity to closely monitor APIC’s progress for a reasonable period and to then undertake a full, detailed assessment of APIC's compliance with the HES Framework.

TEQSA holds concerns in relation to:

  1. Corporate governance and the extent to which the governing body assures itself that APIC is operating effectively and sustainably; and
  2. Institutional quality assurance and the extent to which APIC is adequately analysing and considering student performance data in its decision making and the extent to which actions it is taking are addressing student performance issues.

TEQSA will work with APIC to determine the means by which these risks will be addressed, and may consider further assurance action in relation to these matters in the future.
