Extension of accreditation period

Report on extension of accreditation of four higher education courses of study offered by Australian Academy of Music and Performing Arts

On 15 July 2020, a delegate of TEQSA extended, under section 57A of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following courses offered by Australian Academy of Music and Performing Arts:

  • Associate Degree of Music (Performance) from 31 December 2020 to 31 December 2023
  • Bachelor of Music (Performance) from 31 December 2020 to 31 December 2023
  • Associate Degree of Dance from 7 March 2021 to 7 March 2024
  • Bachelor of Dance from 7 March 2021 to 7 March 2024

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision in order to reduce the administrative burden of regulation for the provider in response to COVID-19 and its impact on the higher education sector. This decision is consistent with the principles set out in TEQSA's policy on extensions to the period of provider registration or course accreditation, including an assessment of risks associated with the extension.
