Who we are

TEQSA was established by the Australian Government as Australia’s higher education regulation and quality assurance agency in 2011, with a focus on ensuring that higher education providers meet minimum standards, promote best practice and improve the quality of the Australian higher education sector.  

All organisations that offer higher education qualifications (diploma or above) in or from Australia must be registered by TEQSA. 

Higher education providers that have not been granted self-accrediting authority must also have their courses of study accredited by the agency. 

The Australian higher education sector includes public and private universities, Australian branches of overseas universities, TAFEs, government agencies, professional bodies, faith-based colleges and other independent for-profit and not-for-profit providers.

Regulatory Operations Employment Register

Assessment Managers (APS 5)/Senior Assessment Managers (APS 6)

From time-to-time we require people to fill vacancies caused as a result of staff movement or to assist with a temporary increase in workload in the TEQSA Regulatory Operations area.

This Register provides you with an opportunity to let us know that you are interested in working at TEQSA as an Assessment Manager or as a Senior Assessment Manager, and enables us to access a pool of people for further consideration.  

All shortlisted applicants for Assessment Manager/Senior Assessment Manager positions undergo a multi-stage assessment process.

The assessment process includes:

  • a written exercise
  • a group exercise
  • a presentation 
  • an interview
  • referee and security checks.

From time-to-time we require people to fill vacancies caused as a result of staff movement or to assist with a temporary increase in workload. The Non-ongoing (Temporary) Employment Register provides you with an opportunity to let us know that you are interested in working at TEQSA, and enables us to access a pool of people for further consideration.

Who can apply?

Successful applicants must:

  • be an Australian citizen
  • satisfactorily complete a National Police Check
  • obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security clearance to Baseline/ Negative Vetting Level 1 status as required.

Failure to satisfy any of these conditions may result in the withdrawal of an offer of employment or termination of employment.
