Invitation for comments on TEQSA’s 2012 Provider Information Request
The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency is currently seeking feedback on the proposed approach to provider information collection. We welcome provider feedback on the consultation paper, either directly or via the relevant peak body, via email to consultation@teqsa.gov.au by 5pm on Friday 25 May 2012.
The Consultation Paper is currently available for comment at www.teqsa.gov.au/current-consultations.
Ms Lucy Schulz and Mr Ian Kimber have been appointed TEQSA’s Executive Directors of the Regulation and Review Group. Lucy and Ian will share responsibility for overseeing the regulation of higher education providers registered by TEQSA. Dr Jeanette Baird, outgoing Executive Director of TEQSA’s Regulation and Review Group, has chosen to move on from the agency after leading it through critical stages in the development of its regulatory capacity. Jeanette will be leaving at the end of this month.
TEQSA briefings for the higher education sector 2012
TEQSA held its first provider briefing on 27 March, to inform the higher education sector about the Agency, requirements and approach for registration, accreditation and risk assessment.

CRICOS forms and guides
TEQSA has now released a suite of forms and guides for all CRICOS related activities including the initial CRICOS Registration and ongoing compliance with the National Code.

Memorandum of understanding between TEQSA and ASQA
TEQSA and the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) have signed a Memorandum of understanding detailing how the two regulators will work together towards a streamlined national regulatory approach for ‘dual sector providers’—providers offering both vocational education and training and higher education.

TEQSA releases Regulatory Risk Framework
TEQSA has released its Regulatory Risk Framework, which sets out TEQSA’s policy and processes for identifying and assessing risk in the higher education sector.
