TEQSA renews Memorandum of Cooperation with Malaysian Qualifications Agency
The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) has renewed its Memorandum of Cooperation with the Malaysian Qualifications Agency further reinforcing a joint commitment to quality higher education in the Asia Pacific.
TEQSA Chief Executive Officer, Anthony McClaran, said the memorandum provided both agencies with opportunities to exchange information and expertise.
Initially signed in 2013, the memorandum of cooperation has been extended for a further three years until 2020.
“We are very much looking forward to continuing our collaboration with the MQA,” Mr McClaran said.
“It enables us to continue to support and learn from each other, effectively perform our regulatory and quality assurance responsibilities and enhance the understanding of our approach in ensuring higher quality education.”
Malaysian Qualifications Agency Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Rujhan Mustafa, said the memorandum allowed for further opportunity for staff at both agencies to take part in exchanges, institutional audit exercises and training activities.
“The MOC is aimed at fostering the existing relationship between these agencies, further strengthening the partnership and promoting technical cooperation that will be of mutual benefit, among others – exchange of information and mutual understanding,” he said.
