Australia ranks amongst the best in international student mobility
Media Release
The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) has welcomed a British Council report on higher education which rates Australia amongst the best in international higher education.
The report, The Shape of Global Higher Education: International Mobility of Students, Research and Education Provision, found Australia among the most attractive countries for those looking for international student mobility, transnational education and research collaboration.
Australian international higher education ranked strongly in a number of categories of the report, including number one in quality assurance and degree recognition, transnational education engagement, and the openness of our higher education system.
TEQSA chief executive Anthony McClaran said the agency’s International Engagement Strategy built on its mission to protect and enhance the reputation, quality and competitiveness of Australia’s higher education sector in international higher education.
“TEQSA’s International Engagement Strategy promotes the role, importance and effectiveness of Australia’s quality assurance and regulatory system while supporting the solid reputation of Australian higher education both here and overseas”.
TEQSA’s arrangements for quality assurance and regulation enable the agency to work collaboratively with partner agencies in other countries to facilitate cross border higher education arrangements and promote confidence in the quality of Australian higher education.
