ParaPharm Pty Ltd's registration cancelled
The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) has cancelled ParaPharm Pty Ltd’s registration as an Australian higher education provider.
ParaPharm Pty Ltd (trading as Paramount Higher Education) was placed into administration on 3 October 2018 and was part of a larger group of training organisations that had incurred significant financial losses. These losses resulted in the group having insufficient funds to continue operations.
TEQSA had previously moved not to renew Paramount Higher Education’s application for renewal of registration in 2015. Subsequent to orders agreed to in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, TEQSA renewed Paramount Higher Education’s registration as an Australian higher education provider until 31 December 2019.
TEQSA imposed a number of regulatory conditions on Paramount Higher Education’s registration and was working with the provider to address the areas of concerns.
The closure has affected 118 higher education students and TEQSA has been working with the administrators to ensure that there are mechanisms in place for students to continue studying and to obtain copies of their academic records.
- Information on ParaPharm Pty Ltd’s regulatory history is available from TEQSA’s National Register of Higher Education Providers.
