Advice issued on admissions transparency
TEQSA has released practical guidance on how higher education providers can meet Government led initiatives to increase the transparency of admissions practices in the sector.
The new resource, Advice on Admissions Transparency, offers higher education providers practical guidance on making information accessible, consistent and comparable, increasing the accuracy of data and its presentation, better explaining how applicants will be assessed and TEQSA’s role in the initiative. The advice is informed by findings from TEQSA’s formative evaluation of the implementation of the first stage of the admissions transparency project.
The advice, in conjunction with the Admissions Transparency Implementation Working Group’s (IWG) ‘updated specification for phase two implementation in 2018’ of common admissions terminology and information sets, aim to help higher education providers make it easier for domestic undergraduate applicants to study in 2019.
Advice on Admissions Transparency also encourages higher education providers who are struggling to implement admissions transparency measures, or simply have questions, to get in touch with TEQSA’s Admissions Transparency Team on (03) 8306 2463, or admissions [at] teqsa.gov.au.
In March and April, TEQSA will hold forums for providers in capital cities to further explain the requirements of providers. Details will be posted on the TEQSA website.
