TEQSA will be the regulator for international education for higher education from 29 January 2012.

Any education provider teaching international students in Australia must comply with the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) legislative framework.

The ESOS framework provides nationally consistent standards for the conduct of providers of education and training to international students and complements Australia’s student visa laws. Work on the transition of ESOS functions into TEQSA is currently underway.
